I appreciate the technician being honest with me telling me the paint wouldn’t be a 100% match since I had cnc wheels. The paint was overall pretty hard to tell that it was slightly off. Technician also pointed out chips I had on the wheels which were painted over. Overall I was satisfied with the work and effort put in to make my rims look like nothing happened to them. 😊

The service was a little expensive, definitely more than other places in the GTA, but it was much more convenient. We are a single-car family and I appreciated that I didn’t have to worry about drop-off and pick-up. The technician (Nick) was very friendly and explained the process to us before and after. He did a great job - the rim looks perfect again. Denting a rim is annoying but this service made it quick and easy to fix.

A diamond cut finish is created by machining the face of the wheel on a CNC lathe, removing a paper-thin layer of alloy to leave the bright, machined-metal look with fine circular lines, usually paired with painted pockets for a two-tone effect. It is a factory finish on many BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Lexus wheels, and it cannot be replicated with paint alone.

? How do you repair curb rash on diamond cut wheels?

The wheel is removed, any gouges are repaired, and the face is then re-cut on a CNC lathe to restore the original machined surface before a fresh clear coat seals it. A spot respray cannot reproduce the machined lines, which is why diamond cut wheels need this lathe pass rather than standard cosmetic repair.

? How much does diamond cut wheel repair cost in the GTA?

? How long does diamond cut restoration take?

Because the work requires shop-based CNC equipment, diamond cut wheels are handled through our pick-up and drop-off service and typically take 4 to 5 business days from collection to return. We coordinate pick-up anywhere in the GTA by appointment.

? How many times can a wheel be diamond cut?

Each re-cut removes a thin layer of alloy, so most wheels can only be safely machined once or twice after the factory cut. We measure the face before quoting and will tell you honestly if your wheel is at its limit, in which case a painted or powder coated finish is the safe alternative that keeps the wheel structurally sound.

? Is a diamond cut finish durable in GTA winters?

The machined face relies entirely on its clear coat for protection, so winter salt attacks it faster than painted finishes once stone chips open a path in. If your diamond cut wheels bubble or corrode every winter, we can re-cut them one final time and then recommend switching to a powder coated finish for lasting salt resistance.
